The key benefits of the ACE salt water sanitizing system are two-fold:
- Spa water feels great, looks great, and even smells great! The system generates natural chlorine which is less irritating to the eyes and skin than the chlorine found in bottles, and does not create the strong chlorine odor associated with the use of bottled chlorine.
- Water care takes less time and is easy. With regular spa use, daily and even weekly water care requirements are virtually eliminated when using the ACE system, so customers can enjoy more hands-free water care.
Low Salt Levels
One of the challenges related to salt water systems for hot tubs in the past is the need to have high levels of salt in the water. The ACE salt water sanitizing system uses innovative diamond technology, which allows it to generate powerful natural cleaners using significantly lower levels of salt (around the level of drinking water). The target salt level of the water when using the ACE system is 1000ppm, which is essentially undetectable by taste or smell.
Softer Water
The innovation related to the Vanishing Act calcium remover is critical because the ACE salt water sanitizing system requires spa water to have a much lower level of hardness. The hardness level should be maintained at 50ppm to  minimize scaling on the ACE cell. The new Vanishing Act™ calcium remover is the only product recommended to decrease the hardness of the spa water. The use of Stain and Scale Defense or other anti-scaling products is not recommended, and may contribute to a high level of phosphates which can be problematic for the spa components.
The ACE salt water sanitizing system automatically generates the precise amount of oxidizers and natural chlorine needed, based on Spa Size and Use Level. There are fewer chemical bottles from which to measure and pour, which means less work for you.
The ACE system communicates with the IQ 2020® control system, making it easy for the spa owner to input his/her Spa Size and Use Level through the main control panel or IQ 2020 remote control. Integration with the IQ 2020 control system also enables the ACE system to provide peace-of-mind to the spa owner through two forms of system feedback. First is the water care icon at the base of the control panel which is illuminated when the ACE system is installed and functioning properly. Second, a system status message located in the main display of the control panel reads “Water Care System Functioning” when the ACE system is at work keeping spa water clean.
Because the quantity of chemicals added to the water is more precise, the TDS level is lowered, which helps to extend the life of the spa water – so customers using the ACE salt water sanitizing system may enjoy longer time between water changes, and ultimately use less water.
How The Water Is Cleaned
Unique diamond technology exists within the ACE cell in the form of a diamond-coated electrode. This special cell design allows the ACE system to generate natural chlorine and a variety of powerful natural oxidizers in the water.
The ACE salt water sanitizing system generates a natural oxidizer called Active Oxygen, which instantly goes to work to clean impurities in the spa water. Active Oxygen also combines with other elements in the water, including salt and pH down, to create various oxidizers – such as ozone, hydrogen peroxide, and MPS non-chlorine shock – along with natural chlorine. That means there are potentially five powerful, natural cleaners generated in the spa water to help keep it fresh and crystal clear!
Advanced Features
The ACE salt water sanitizing system includes automated features that make water care even easier. 
The Boost feature can be activated to automatically increase the sanitizer level before, during, or after an increased use situation such as a party.
To ensure that the salt levels are in the OK range, the ACE system runs an automated salt test every 6 hours – so salt test strips are optional. After salt has been added, or if water has been added to the spa that would change the level of natural chlorine in the water, an automated salt test can be manually initiated to re-test the salt level of the water on demand.
